A Covenant That Endures

April 29, 2026
In this message, we walk through 2 Samuel 6–7 and see how God’s promises endure because they rest on His faithfulness, not our perfection. After learning that God’s presence must be honored according to His Word, David now desires to build a house for the Lord. While his desire is sincere, God reveals that His plans are greater than David’s ideas and that His covenant reaches far beyond one generation. This passage reminds us that God’s work must be done His way, in His timing, and according to His Word.

Key Points:
– If you want God’s presence in your life, you have to seek it God’s way.
– When image matters more than honoring God, you will miss everything He is doing.
– What we want to do for God must still be surrendered to what God wants to do through us.
– The work of God must be shaped by the Word of God.
– God’s promise was not limited to what David could build or what Solomon would build, it pointed to the King whose kingdom shall have no end.

We pray this message encourages you to trust the faithfulness of God and surrender your plans to His greater purpose. Sometimes what we want to do for God is not the assignment He has given us, but His promises are always bigger than what we can see in the moment. Honor Him through obedience, trust His timing, and remember that His kingdom and His promises endure forever.
