Buried, Raised, and Made New
April 19, 2026
Baptism is more than a symbolic moment. It is a visible picture of a spiritual reality that has already taken place in the life of a believer. In Colossians 2:12–14, we see that salvation is not about external actions, but an internal transformation where God buries the old life, raises us to new life, and secures our victory through Jesus Christ.
Key Points:
- When a person comes to Christ, their old life is buried forever. Failure no longer defines them. Victory does.
- New life in Christ is not a restart, it is a resurrection. This is not improving the old life. This is receiving a completely new one.
- Salvation is not something done to you on the outside, it is something God does in you on the inside. Real change begins within, through the power of God.
- The same power that raised Jesus is the power that now lives in you.

Because He lives, you can walk in victory and face whatever comes next. Because Jesus is alive, everything changes. The same power that raised Him from the dead is at work in every believer today. This means your past no longer defines you, your identity is secure in Christ, and your future is filled with hope. You are not just improved, you are made completely new.
