Faith In Hidden Places

January 14, 2026
In this week’s message, we continue our Walking with David study by stepping deeper into the space between God’s promise and visible fulfillment. Last week, a thoughtful question was raised about what Jesse and David’s household actually understood when David was anointed. And that question opens the door to an important section of Scripture we explore here. Together, we see that God often speaks clearly long before anything looks different, and that the seasons that feel quiet, hidden, or routine are often where He is doing His deepest work for us. This message reminds us that faithfulness is not proven in spotlight moments, but in steady obedience when no one else is watching.

Key Points:
- God speaks before anything changes
- Hidden seasons are not delays in God’s plan
- God is building faith in unseen places
- Faithfulness matters even when nothing seems to be happening

David’s story teaches us that God often works quietly before He ever works publicly. While David carried a promise he could not yet explain or act on, God was shaping his heart through ordinary obedience, daily responsibility, and unseen faithfulness. The pasture, the palace, and even the errands all mattered because God was using every moment to prepare him for what was coming. In the same way, God is at work in our lives even when progress feels slow, reminding us that faithfulness in hidden places is never wasted in His hands.

Key Scriptures: 1 Samuel 16:4–5, 1 Samuel 16:19–23, 1 Samuel 17:12–20, Psalm 23:1–3
