Jesus, the Light That Leads Us Home

March 15, 2025

Today, we are looking at John 8.12-20, where Jesus declares, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." Just as physical light overcomes darkness effortlessly, Jesus, the Light of the world, exposes sin and offers life. However, not everyone embraces the Light—some, like the Pharisees, reject it because it reveals their hearts. The Light demands a response: Will we merely stand near it, or will we step into it and follow Jesus daily?

Key Points:
Darkness brings confusion, hides reality, and isolates.
Light brings clarity and guidance. It is a daily decision.
Light and darkness cannot coexist.
Walking in the Light means rejecting darkness. However, when you walk in His light, you don’t just see differently—you live differently.
Spiritual darkness doesn’t just ignore the Light—it fights against it.
Rejecting the Light is a choice, and the Light demands a response. It’s important to also note that walking in darkness is a choice, not a condition.

The Pharisees had every opportunity to see the truth, yet they chose darkness over light. Every person faces the same decision—follow the Light or remain in the dark. The Light demands a response; it’s not enough to simply admire it from a distance. Some stand near it but never step into it. Walking in darkness is a choice, not a condition. The Pharisees had the Light right in front of them and still rejected it. So where are you? Are you just near the Light, or are you walking in it? Remember, the Light doesn’t just show the way—it is the way.
