Obedience Without Resolution

March 18, 2026

What do you do when you’ve obeyed God… but nothing changes? In this message, we walk through 1 Samuel 25–26 and see how David responds when the pressure doesn’t let up. Even after choosing obedience, David remains in the wilderness, the promise is still delayed, and the same test returns. This sermon challenges us to trust God not just for the outcome, but in the waiting, when obedience doesn’t immediately bring resolution.

  • A faithful heart stays obedient even when nothing has changed yet.

  • When you don’t take matters into your own hands, you leave room for God to handle it His way.

  • One of the clearest tests of spiritual maturity is how you respond when the moment comes back around.

  • When the pressure repeats, God is often doing a deeper work in your response.

  • The real work of God isn’t always happening around you, most often it’s happening in you.

  • You won’t have obedience in the moment if you haven’t already made peace with doing it God’s way.

  • Faith does not only trust God for the promise, faith also trusts God with the process.

  • If you’re vigilant, a hard season won’t just affect your life, it will start affecting your fellowship with God.

  • Sometimes obedience won’t fix it, but it will keep you from stepping outside the will of God while you wait.

If this message encourages you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who may be walking through a season of waiting. Obedience isn’t always easy, especially when nothing seems to be changing, but God is still working beneath the surface. Stay faithful. Stay steady. Trust Him in the process.
