Spiritual Gifts: Every Member Has a Role
October 29, 2025
Spiritual gifts are God’s way of equipping every believer to make a difference in His church. Last week we learned that stewardship moves the mission of the church forward, but this week we’re discovering that God hasn’t only entrusted us with resources—He has also placed spiritual gifts within every member of the body of Christ. A healthy church depends on every believer serving with the grace God has given them. When we withhold our gifts, the church suffers; when we use them faithfully, the body grows strong and effective. Tonight we ask the big question: What role has God designed me to play in His church?
Key Points:
Every gift originates from the Holy Spirit and is distributed according to His will.
Spiritual gifts build up the body of Christ and bring glory to God.
Spiritual gifts equip believers to serve with unity and maturity.
Every believer has a spiritual gift to use for the good of the body.
Spiritual gifts begin at salvation through the power of the Holy Spirit.
The church is strongest when every member uses their gifts faithfully.
Spiritual gifts are not about ability but availability.
A healthy church is built when everyone does their part.
Spiritual gifts are meant to be shared, not stored.
God has designed every believer with intention and purpose, and spiritual gifts are one of the clearest expressions of His grace at work in us. The church doesn’t thrive because a few people do everything—it thrives when every member embraces the calling God has placed within them. You are gifted, you are needed, and you have a role to play in the body of Christ. When we surrender our lives and faithfully use the gifts God has given us, the church becomes strong, unified, and effective in its mission.
Key Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 12:4–11, James 1:17, 1 Peter 4:10–11, Ephesians 4:11–13, 1 Corinthians 14:12, Ephesians 4:13, Romans 12:1–12, Galatians 5:13
