Strength Renewed in Crisis

April 1, 2026

In this message, we walk through 1 Samuel 28–30 and see what happens when everything David built outside of God finally collapses. After drifting in weariness and stepping outside of God’s direction, David finds himself at his lowest point, facing loss, pressure, and the consequences of his choices. Yet in the middle of the crisis, David turns back to the Lord and discovers that God was still present, still speaking, and still faithful. This passage reminds us that God may allow everything to fall apart in order to bring us back to Him, and that true strength is found in returning to the Lord.

Key Points

  • God’s protection is not always permission, sometimes it is prevention.

  • If God is not in it, it will not last.

  • Crisis will reveal where your heart turns when everything around you falls apart.

  • The turning point in your crisis is when you return to God, not when your situation changes.

  • God was there all along, David just stopped seeking Him.

  • When you follow God’s direction, you can trust Him with the outcome.

  • When God restores you, He also reshapes how you live and lead forever.

Key Scriptures

1 Samuel 28:1–2, 1 Samuel 29:1–11, 1 Samuel 30:1–25

We pray this message encourages you to turn to the Lord in the middle of your crisis. You may not be able to control what is happening around you, but you can choose where you turn. God never stopped leading, and when you return to Him, He will give you direction, restore what was lost, and reshape your heart for what is ahead.
