The Final Dispensation and the Eternal State

April 16, 2025

Join us this week as we complete the teaching on the Perfect Kingdom and navigate a deeper dive into the Ages of the Ages—the eternal unfolding of God’s purpose after time is complete.

Key Points:
– Paul describes a future moment in redemptive history when God gathers everything—in heaven and on earth—into Christ. This isn’t the Church Age or the Millennium—it’s the final state of restored order. Clarence Larkin linked this to the 33,000-year Perfect Kingdom: a literal and prophetic dispensation where all things are fully united under Christ’s rule.
– Just as Jesus’ 33½ years marked the completion of His earthly ministry and return to the Father, the 33,000-year period represents the fullness of His redemptive reign—culminating in everything being returned to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:24–28). It’s a prophetic picture of maturity and divine completeness.
– Larkin viewed this as an echo of God’s appointed times—highlighted by the recurring use of the number 1,000 in Scripture. When Christ delivers up the Kingdom, it doesn’t mark the end—it begins something even greater: the Ages of the Ages.
– In that eternal state, the New Jerusalem shines above, and the nations walk in its light. These nations, distinct from the Church but fully redeemed, represent the saved of all ages—dwelling on the new earth under Christ’s everlasting rule.
– Clarence Larkin described eternity not as a still moment, but as an unfolding purpose—what Scripture calls the “Ages of the Ages.” The New Heaven and New Earth are not transitional—they’re permanent. The New Jerusalem remains the eternal capital, where the redeemed serve, reign, and live in unbroken fellowship with Christ. This isn’t just the end of history—it’s the beginning of something far greater. A Perfect Kingdom gives way to an eternal unfolding of God’s glory. As you reflect, ask yourself: What part of God’s redemptive plan stood out the most to you—and why? And how does the idea of eternity unfolding change the way you view heaven?
