The Night Heaven Defined Love

October 5, 2025
Last week, Judas left the table and stepped into the night. This week, the upper room holds eleven faithful hearts and Jesus begins to speak some of the most tender, personal words in all of Scripture. In John 13:31–38, we witness the moment heaven defined love. In this message, we see how what looked like defeat became glory, how Jesus set a new standard for love, and how grace was already waiting even in our failure.

Key Points:
– What the world saw as defeat became the moment of God’s greatest glory.
– A new commandment I give unto you — that ye love one another, as I have loved you.
– Jesus didn’t just talk about love — He demonstrated it.
– The greatest proof that we belong to Jesus is the way we love one another.
– Love is the language heaven recognizes, and the world can’t ignore.
– Jesus went where no man could go, to accomplish what no man could do.
– Grace was waiting for Peter before failure ever found him.

Heaven defined love the night Jesus chose the cross. The world saw defeat, but heaven saw glory. Jesus didn’t just tell us to love — He showed us how. His love transforms failure into forgiveness and darkness into light. When the church loves like Jesus, the world sees Jesus. Let’s live out that love today because love is the language heaven recognizes, and the world can’t ignore.
