Turning to a Different Gospel

August 7, 2024
Tonight, we delve into the heart of the issue within the Galatian churches—their swift departure from the true gospel of grace. Paul, in a tone of astonishment, begins his letter not with thanksgiving, but with a firm reprimand, marveling at how quickly the Galatians have turned to “another gospel.” However, as Paul emphasizes, there is no other gospel!
In this study, we will explore:

Galatians 1.6-10: Paul's astonishment at the Galatians’ quick apostasy and his passionate defense of the purity of the gospel of grace.
The danger of false teachings: Judaizers had infiltrated the churches, adding the Mosaic law to the message of salvation, thereby perverting the true gospel.

Paul's warnings against false teachers: He boldly declares that anyone—whether human or angel—preaching a different gospel should be accursed, underscoring the gravity of altering the message of salvation.
The unwavering commitment required to serve Christ alone, rejecting the approval of men.

Paul’s letter serves as a timeless reminder that our salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—nothing more, nothing less. As we study this passage, let’s reflect on the challenges of maintaining gospel purity in our own time and how we can stand firm in the truth of God's Word. We appreciate you watching!
