You Shall Be Witnesses
April 26, 2026
Before the church ever moved, Jesus gave a command: wait. Not because nothing was happening, but because everything depended on what God was about to do. The disciples had walked with Jesus, seen miracles, and heard truth, but they still needed something more. They needed power. And in Acts 1, Jesus makes it clear that their assignment was already set, they just needed to be empowered to live it out.

Key Points
- The promise of the Father is the coming of the Holy Ghost. They were not waiting aimlessly, they were waiting for God to do what only He could do.
- The mission required more than information, it required God’s empowerment. Knowledge alone was not enough. The calling demanded the power of God.
- Without the Holy Ghost, the message goes forward without confirmation. With the Holy Ghost, the message is carried with power and witness. The difference is not in the message, but in the power behind it.
- Without the Holy Spirit’s power they cannot do what they are being called to do. And what was true for them is still true for us today.
- Our words cannot save souls, that requires the work of the Holy Spirit. We are called to speak, but only God can transform.
- Jerusalem is where they live. Judaea is the region around them. Samaria is the place they would not naturally go. The uttermost is everywhere else. The mission starts where you are and moves outward.
- If the Holy Ghost lives in you, your life was meant to reach beyond you. Your faith was never meant to stay contained.
- The question is not if you are a witness. The question is what kind of witness you are going to be.

Every believer has a role. The only question is how you will live it. God has already given the assignment. The call is not to figure out if you are meant to be a witness, but to step into it. You do not need more clarity, you need His power. And when the Holy Spirit is at work in your life, your influence will not stay where you are, it will reach far beyond you.
